Burnsville Transit Station Parking Facility

LSA completed planning, design and construction administration for all phases of this project, including the securing of and administration of federal funding. Use of the transit hub grew to such an extent that a parking facility was constructed over the original surface lot with subsequent vertical expansion, which had been anticipated in the original design. A precast concrete structural system was used to allow for winter construction as well as minimal site disruption. Bus service and all operations were coordinated during the construction period to ensure minimal disruption to passengers. The final product is a 1,050 car park and ride, constructed in three phases over an eight year period, during which time the transit station remained open and operating.
